Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday said that there will be 4% reservation in jobs for sportspersons in the next recruitment in government departments. He said that all unemployed youth cannot get government jobs, but they will have to look for other opportunities.
No one should be denied education due to financial issues, Sawant said at the inauguration of the 5th Adivasi Vidyarthi Sammelan 2023. He said that students should start preparing for Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) immediately after passing class 10th.
The Chief Minister said that those who win medals in the National Games will get reservation in government jobs.
Till now, there was reservation in a limited number of jobs for players, mostly in the Goa Police and fire and emergency services.
The state government will bring a bill in the upcoming assembly session to provide quota to players. Sawant urged the youth not to become victims of cyber crime.
