DDC inaugurates first batch of training under PM Vishwakarma Scheme at Govt. ITI Poonch

Poonch, February 16: Poonch Deputy Commissioner Yasin M. Chaudhary inaugurated the first batch of training under PM Vishwakarma Scheme here today.

The inaugural ceremony took place at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Poonch and saw the beginning of Tailoring (Darzi) training, which provides an invaluable source of skill enhancement for aspiring Vishwakarma aspirants.

Superintendent Government ITI Poonch, Er. Javed Ahmed warmly welcomed the Deputy Commissioner and District Level Implementation Committee members, General Manager District Industries Center Poonch, Khalid Hussain Wafa, District Treasury Officer, Rashid Dostum and staff members of the Government. In his address, the Deputy Commissioner threw light on Vishwakarma Scheme and various government initiatives. He informed that the training program will run for six days, in which the participants will receive a stipend of ₹500 per day, which will amount to ₹3000 in total.

Additionally, an amount of ₹15000 will be given to purchase the toolkit. Additionally, the government will provide a loan of ₹100000 with 5% interest subsidy on the first installment.

The Deputy Commissioner encouraged the trainees to leverage their skills and open other businesses like carpentry, boutique, plumbing in the market to avail the opportunities, earn livelihood and live a fulfilling life.

Khalid Hussain Wafa, General Manager, DIC, also addressed the gathering and provided further information about the Vishwakarma Scheme and the benefits associated with it. His informative speech highlighted the potential of the scheme to empower individuals and promote entrepreneurship, ultimately contributing to the socio-economic development of the region.
