Indore: Are promises made during election season only to be broken? Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has claimed to have provided one lakh government jobs in the last one year, but the two recruitment agencies of the state together advertised only 51973 posts in five years. About 51% of these posts were advertised after 1 November 2022, which shows. Poor situation of recruitment in government departments. CM Chouhan had announced to provide one lakh government jobs annually during the Employment Day function in Rewa in March last year. And the Chief Minister has repeated this promise several times since then. State BJP spokesperson Milan Bhargava said, “The state government advertised one lakh government department posts through direct recruitment in the last one year and filled 65,000 posts. The rest will be filled after the code of conduct is lifted.” Bhargava claimed that the recruitments were conducted directly by the department. However, there are two agencies in Madhya Pradesh- Madhya Pradesh Staff Selection Board, and Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) which are responsible for the recruitment of employees in government departments. In the last five years starting from December 1, MPESB advertised 41323 posts and MPPSC advertised 10,650 posts for recruitment. The twist in the tale is that MPESB and MPPSC advertised 21637 and 4899 posts respectively in poll-bound states in the last one year. Officials of the agencies blamed the delay in resolving the ‘bottleneck’ created by the 27% OBC reservation issue. MPCC media coordinator KK Mishra said, “Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia admitted in the Assembly that the government gave jobs to only 21 people in the state. If it is not so, then the Chief Minister will release the list of those who have got jobs.” Mishra was referring to the written reply of the Sports and Youth Welfare Minister to the question of Congress MLA Mevaram Jatav in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly.
