Patna: Barely a fortnight after joining the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government in Bihar, the BJP seems to be taking full credit for the “bumper appointments” in police and other departments and initiatives launched by the new government. Who took oath on 28 January. This has prompted the RJD to launch a scathing attack on the CM for his “silence”.

One of the main factors behind the untimely fall of the grand alliance government in the state was the RJD’s alleged attempt to take credit for jobs and other achievements. Nitish Kumar himself has said on record that his former colleagues were busy taking credit for the work started by him.

Strangely, Nitish is now facing a similar problem with the NDA, where the BJP seems to be taking all the credit for jobs and initiatives, which is likely to create tension in the NDA.

Over the past three days, the BJP posted several messages on social media platforms highlighting how the newly formed NDA government has brought a flood of jobs and opportunities to the state. However, none of the posters have Nitish’s picture; They contain pictures of only PM Narendra Modi, BJP President JP Nadda and the party’s two deputy CMs Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha.

The development drew strong protest from the main opposition RJD, which questioned Nitish’s silence on the issue. RJD state chief spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav asked, “Nitish ji how do you feel when BJP has refused to give you any credit? At least we took your pictures in our posters,” he alleged Nitish. Left the Grand Alliance because he was against providing jobs. For the needy and poor.

JDU does not find anything wrong in BJP’s move. JDU national spokesperson Rajib Ranjan said, “The NDA had promised 10 lakh jobs during the 2020 state assembly campaign, when Nitish had contested the elections as part of the NDA. This is why the BJP is taking the credit. “Any party in power can take credit for the government’s development initiatives,” he said.

State BJP spokesperson Manoj Sharma said the party was conducting recruitments against the sanctioned strength with budgetary provisions so that the appointed persons could get regular salaries. He denied that the BJP was taking all the credit for the work alone and denied any possible differences on such issues within the NDA.
