Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Monday, February 12, increased the maximum age limit for Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) examinations and recruitment for government jobs in the state by two years, taking the upper age limit to 46 years.

The order dated February 8 said, “A number of representations have been received from unemployed youth to consider relaxation in the upper age limit for direct recruitment, so that more unemployed youth can become eligible for recruitment to various categories of posts.” “

It is noteworthy that Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had announced on February 9 to increase the age limit of Group 1 applicants to 46 years.

Earlier, the government had issued an order increasing the maximum age limit for appointment by direct recruitment in TSPSC by 10 years from 34 to 44 years.

The order said the TSPSC Secretary had requested the government to increase the maximum age limit for posts other than Uniform Services by two years in addition to the already increased ten years.

No age limit for police, excise, fire, prison, forest department

The GO clearly states that age relaxation is not applicable to police, excise, fire, jail, forest departments. “Provided that nothing in this rule shall apply to direct recruitment to posts in similar services such as police, excise, fire, prison, forest department, etc., for which physical standards have been prescribed in the State and Subordinate Services Rules or.
