Uttarakhand government is providing assistance and support to the youth looking for job opportunities in foreign countries. Praveen Chandra Goswami, employment officer of the Foreign Employment Cell within the Department of Skill Development and Employment, revealed that in 2021, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced a scheme aimed at providing employment facilities to the youth.

Run by the Department of Skill Development and Employment, the objective of this scheme is to provide promising job opportunities abroad to the youth. Under the Chief Minister Skill Upgradation and Global Employment Scheme, students pursuing Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM) and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) courses are being trained for foreign employment.

In 2021, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the Foreign Employment Scheme under the Skill Development and Employment Department. After this, a dedicated cell was established in Sahaspur area of Dehradun in 2022. Chief Minister Skill Upgradation and Global Employment Scheme was officially launched in May 2023.

As part of this initiative, a technical internship program was organized between India and Japan under the Technical Intern Training Program (TITP) of the Government of India. Japanese companies sent trainers to provide specialized training in areas such as Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM), Yoga teaching and home health care in line with the Prime Minister Skill Development Scheme. Upon completion of the training, approximately 13 candidates are expected to find employment in Japanese companies after interview and selection processes.

To avail such opportunities, individuals can participate in various training programs conducted by the Department of Skill Development and Employment. Potential candidates interested in working abroad can apply through the official website eservices.uk.gov.in. Upon registration, they will receive timely updates and notifications from the department.

The scheme also includes government assistance with visa and ticket processes, facilitating a smooth transition for individuals seeking overseas employment. Additionally, the government has established communication channels with agencies providing job opportunities, which has resulted in receiving a large number of job notifications.

Ultimately, the scheme aims to empower individuals with career prospects outside India, thereby promoting personal and professional development among the youth.
